A few weeks ago I welcomed baby Caleb back to my Canton Michigan Photography Studio for a 1st Birthday Milestone Cake Smash Session!
If you follow me on Instagram or Facebook, you’ve probably seen sweet Caleb and his big brother Chase quite a bit. Last Fall I shared baby Caleb’s in home newborn session after he made them a family of 4!
More recently, I shared their Family Summer Mini Session at Nankin Mills Interpretive Center in Westland, Michigan! These photos are some of my absolute favorites!

A few weeks ago their family join me again but this time they visited me in Canton in my new photography studio to celebrate Caleb’s first birthday with an extra special milestone cake smash session!
I always start my milestone sessions with family photos. Even though they had just had outdoor family photos done, Ashley opted for some updated photos of her with her sweet boys and some sibling photos as well.
Next we moved onto some individual photos of Caleb before we introduced the cake and covered him in all of the frosting goodness. We also invited big brother to join us for some balloon fun!
And finally, we always save the best for last and bring out the cake at the very end of our session! Caleb wasn’t so sure about his feelings on his cake, so big brother Chase helped him out and he wasn’t a bit mad about it! Ha!

Caleb, we love you so much buddy! Hope today is filled with lots of Momma snuggles, lots of giggles with your big brother and tickles from your daddy. Happy 1st birthday, sweet boy!
Caleb isn’t the only birthday I’ve celebrated recently. I’ve had the honor of celebrating a dozen first birthday milestone sessions since my studio opened in April! Some have been new faces and many have been returning 2024 babies that I had the honor of capturing as newborns last year! I absolutely LOVE seeing how much your babies have grown and changed over the year and milestone sessions have quickly become some of my favorite photos to shoot!
