Yes, It's true!
My passion for caring for Mommas and walking them through the postpartum season, eventually led me to pursuing postpartum doula education and certification.
I'm so honored to be a part of the Michigan Family Doula's team and I would LOVE to be a part of your postpartum journey if you choose me to be your Postpartum Doula.

The word doula comes from the Greek word doulē, which means "female helper" or "maidservant". As your postpartum doula, my role is to serve you as you make the transition from carrying your baby inside your womb, to caring for your baby outside of your womb. I hope that by the end of our time together, you have felt loved and cared for and that you feel more empowered and equipped to be a Momma to your new baby.
Some of my roles as a postpartum doula can include but are not limited to:
I sure can! In fact, I would be absolutely honored to take photos for you AND support you on your postpartum journey. I often have to remind myself while I'm taking newborn photos that, no, I was not asked to help with nursing techniques or advice on getting baby to sleep. I have to remind myself to stay in my lane ;).
But truly, if you're in need of BOTH a photographer and a postpartum doula, I would love nothing more than to connect with you. I even offer a special rate on photos as a THANK YOU for trusting me with such a special season of your life!

I primarily do night shifts! Crazy, right? Night shifts are what currently work best for my schedule and I don't mind some late nights or early mornings. And, as a Momma of 4, I know how needed sleep is after welcoming a new baby. My night shifts usually run from 10 pm to 6 am. I take over caring for your baby in between your nightly feedings. When your baby needs to eat, I bring him or her to you. When baby sleeps, I sleep. But if your baby is up and just wants to snuggle, that's exactly what we do! We let you sleep and get the rest you need to be a Momma the next day!
Don't worry though, I also do some day shifts. A day shift is usually a minimum of 5 hours and I'm happy to help with all of the roles listed in the question above (and then some).
